I’ve  been wavering and could use a little direction
Believe in me, give me a reason to smile, be my resurrection
Let’s give something different a try, been thinking about you and that’s just fine
Hold the world in your arms, laugh until it hurts, sooner or later love will return to these words

I’ve never long been with a girl, though rarely fled from the notion of one being my world
Believe in a song that sings you to life, give me a reason to see it where it has faded from stars in the night
Let’s give each other a try, one day at a time, been thinking about someday having someone that was mine
Hold the world in your arms, laugh until hurts, sooner or later love will write these words

I’ve been looking for a reason to believe in something no one believes in
Believe in an emotion that floods reason with treason to logic and law
Let’s have a dance and see where our feet land and maybe even hope for a fine romance
Hold the world too tight and it will explode in your arms, let it speak through your words and be courted by its capable charms

I’ve wondered why a romantic soul is left looking both near, far, and not at all
Believe in something more than yourself and discover yourself in that very thing you believe in
Let’s sing a song to the world before it’s leaving without a listen to the lyrics of a life lived lonely, loved and lusting all at once
Hold the world responsible and elicit a response you will not want to be responsible for

Anti-gravity pulls me toward the sky

Time will tell you must devolve, dissolve, descend, and die

Considering that alternative, I’d rather learn to fly

Lift off this earth in trade of my hearse

I will be the story that inspires hope in those that are cursed

Open their eyes to the life above and below blue skies

To be human is to live, love, and die

To be human is a yearning to one day fly

Haven’t you always wanted to give weightlessness a try?

Unburden yourself of worry and pain

Be lifted upward despite how we are trained

Like fallen raindrops we retrace our origin to the heavens above

You will notice how closely flight resembles love

Perhaps this is why peace comes to form in dove

Peace, love and flight on this perfect cloudless night

The stars shimmer and shine; in this moment I wish the world mine

If I can touch it I can take it

If don’t stop believing I can make it

In order to fall we must rise

Whether you know it or not, within you such great heights reside

You are the one I see by my side

Maybe not today

Maybe not tomorrow

But it is your faith, love and heart I seek to borrow

I squeeze you close because my heart is at ease when you’re near

I will be your constant

A friend to lean on, a smile to miss

I will not let you down, but this you already know

I can see it in your eyes when you’re with me

In your smile when you laugh

A world of love that I won’t ask to have back

Do with it as you wish

But remember the things you will miss

The pain of even a few days after being dismissed

The pain is as much of a part of this as the pleasure

You have established a new precedent by which beauty will be measured

From out to in

A star child that shines from toe to chin

I will protect you with whatever breath I have left

Absorb the pain and hardship of theft

The world will drain you if you let it

I said I will be there and don’t you forget it

You may give up on me and not even know

You may think this ends with the places I go

But this is only the beginning

Life is one game we ought to plan on winning

The softness of your skin makes me tremble

God is a good God, for you he did assemble

Placed you on this Earth amongst us regular people

Blessed us with a chance to taste heaven before its gates

Could spend a lifetime happy and willing to chase

Because this is something special

We have something many only know in books

Or by how it looks

How they wish it might feel

This is real

Happiness goes something like this

Two hearts

One love

A fortunate favor from above

A sparkle that fits you like a glove

Be happy, be free

I am thankful for the things you have given me.

As you read this
I am telling you of a life and love story
When it comes to love
or even a crush
we are often too afraid to make the first move
to take the first step
I think we are afraid of reality
you may think this sounds strange
but would you rather know the one you love doesn’t love back?

Or would you rather manifest the life of your ultimate desire?
The imagination is an incredible thing
it can paint a picture in your eyes that eventually you’ll begin to see, and even believe

In this picture
the one who you love
loved you back twice as much
if we never act on things we feel
we may never be able to decipher what is real

And what is just pretend

We see a projection of the beautiful picture through our eyes on the wall
if you never tell someone you love them
then you can never know that they didn’t ever love you back
like a drug addict certain he’s found utopia; so long as he’s on crack

But is that the way you want it?
Would we rather believe in something unreal
simply because reality didn’t necessarily appeal?
I think of a decision that I once made
one that I may or may not remember for the rest of my days
I chose against letting that picture be my reality
I decided to put what we’re all afraid to hurt, on the line
my heart
and yes, the reality of life proved to be shitty

Yet I realize if I hadn’t
till this very moment
I would be looking at a fake picture through my eyes
A picture painted in reality– misled by disguise
Trapped in ignorant bliss
unable to move on because I hadn’t accepted reality as it did exist
Some years later I realize

that if it wasn’t so hard to let go
then it wouldn’t feel so good once I was free

 

In the end, I am thankful I opened my eyes, able to see
She was never the one, or even anyone, for me.

I can’t stop worrying- can’t stop wondering

Where can I go without stumbling?

Why has my breath so tightly cemented my chest?

Where is the being, passionate and free?

When did this worrier- wake up and become me?

I can only take life one day at a time

I can only hope to soon make her mine

No longer do I wish to walk these streets alone

I want the one that makes me always at home

In her arms and in her life

There for her every laugh and every tear

My words near her heart

Touching a place that often goes unnoticed

She is beautiful

It would take a fool not to know this

I speak her name in a crowded room

Under my breath- yet she turns so soon

I look her in the eyes and cannot help but to laugh

Once down this smiling road, there is no looking back

Too often I dwell over the days passed

Afraid of everything- I never ask

What can I do to make you smile?

Where can we get away and dance for just a little while?

Slow motion with you in my arms

The world may be sinking

But together we’re safe from its harm

She’s a good girl, she makes me smile

Even if, I haven’t caught her scent in a while

She reminds me, of happiness and love

She instills in me, light from above

She’s been away from me, for quite a long time

But she really never, left me at all

I believe in her love, her heart and soul

A beautiful energy, she’ll tell you so

I believe some things, never die

Much more powerful things, than you and I

Transcendence, through both time and space

An emotional high, I miss the taste

Do you remember dancing? In the water

We were weightless, unbounded and free

We are dreamers, who never needed time to believe

In something better, than this time and this place

In something bigger, than even your beautiful face

There’s a purpose, even if we cannot touch it

If you’ve witnessed living harmony, you know there’s no rushing it

Controllably, out of control

Knowingly, giving your soul

To something sweeter, than too many ever know

I remember the day I met you, when you became real

I remember when I lost you, the feeling surreal

Time is a blessing, we seem to forget this

Love is a guilty pleasure, yet we’ve come to expect it

Belief is a good thing, no reason to neglect it

Walking on oceans, walking on water

Without gravity, without limits

No telling the ending, this is still the beginning

Be sure not to pass by happiness, caught up in winning or sinning

I miss her smile, I tremble and quiver

Thankful to the god, that did deliver her

I’m reminded, of rationale and space

Yet refuse to be blinded, and continue to chase.

Weakness

weakness

If you think this is easy, then you don’t know love at all
If only we had a choice, upon which lives we did fall
If you think I am angry with you, then you don’t know me at all
It makes me feel like a child, who has forgotten how to walk and must crawl
You see, this is not the path I wish to take
But in this life we must sleep in the bed we make
Dormant, I will lie and wait for you to fade
Love for pain, is not a recommended trade for the sane
But I can no longer be overwhelmed by a single name
I must let it go
Let you go
Not forever but until inside I’m right
In my heart you will always be a welcomed sight
But occasionally I must remember
Rationale that I cannot surrender
To hold my head above my heart
After all it was like that in the start
Make a choice that will let me be free
Your presence has took its toll on me
A weakness, a formerly welcomed vulnerability
It is not right when I ruin your night
With hurtful words spoken from spite
They do not reflect what you mean to me
Rather an easy release of the pain I see
Going forward, moving on without you
Not because I believe in all or nothing
But because I know my self and the things I cannot do
I am sorry for my shortcomings
Sorry for finally running
But it seems the only way to get by
It will not be easy
It is not the path I wish to take
But with the circumstances, it may be the only way I do not break

One More Drink

One more drink, is all I ask
Let these past few months fade so fast
Like a candle they turn from whole to wax
Melting away with the fading night
Rest assured, everything will be alright
More days to come
More ways to run
Wild and free just me, and me

So fill my glass, and I will drink it down
How familiar the sound
An empty glass slamming with a pound
The whiskey makes my blood warm
My body feels for itself and no more
Self sufficient
No longer wishing
No longer waiting
The clock is ticking better get busy making
This life of mine
It’ll all come with time
Eager to find, but must always remind
Myself, of my self, or am I good to no one else

Please fill my glass, to the brim
It’ll cure my ailing, I’ve got a whim
My medicine man of many sorts
Without my medication, happiness cannot be absorbed
Fill my prescription
Don’t I fit the description?
Needing, wanting, struggling to find the diction
To send a message, to take a breath, lift the weight of the world off my chest
The first breath as a free man is better than the rest
So please don’t disturb my beautiful mess
No matter what you think, this isn’t a test
I am a simple man, seeking the world before I’m put to rest.

It’s either love or hate I can’t find inbetween

The stars or six feet under

Violent storms with pounding thunder

Electricity that makes you wonder

What if?

Could such things be?

If there’s going to be a difference in this life

Could it be me?

There are the people I am thankful to have met

On a good thing I’ve come comfortable to bet

This is the reason we endure the length of days

Give your belief in love and I reckon it pays

I am your brother; she is your sister that I feel the pain of

Understand my thoughts are with you the people I listen to hear the name of

There are many silly things in my life that I like to make a game of

But this isn’t one

This is and isn’t about fun

Like Ben said we’re on both sides of the gun

Trigger and barrels

How such perspective narrows

The way the world appears before our eyes

Hope you love your self  and not a disguise

Just one they tell

That’s all I’m going to get

Didn’t you hear it’s not too late to get your fire lit?

Out the door

Ready for more

Hands in the air

It’s not that I don’t care

Consider the flipside in something rare

This is gold to me

Are you really still skeptical waiting to see?

Why not for once have faith in what can be

Not what is, but a simpler harmony?

I have no question I mean something like you do me

I owe the pleasure I endure because of your breath

To die with my people is a reasonable way to taste death

A taste I will not forget

Fortunate to get

All of you and these things that define respect

If I have a will its entirety is your for keeping me in check

A debt I know only by the smile on your face

Something to believe in that’s not a waste

A decision to give without question free from the burden of haste

Take a second and look around at this place

True beauty and a white skirt woven golden lace

From the gods

For the obnoxious kid that at least makes you smile

Maybe something you haven’t even felt in a while

Never know why things come and go

But yet, here are with on poker face to show

Mine, what we see in the mirror

Sadly, what some of us come to fear

The doubts and limitations of our skin

A battle with tidal waves we cannot win

If we’ve already conceded we’ve redefined original sin

Stand tall, if you can stand at all

Be the deus ex machine to the many who can only crawl

Give life legs

Freedom from pegs

To rise

To be free

If the world ended what I know is worth only you and me.

I reach my hand
You pull yours away
In a dismal in-balance; I seem to stay
Not knowing how to let go
More transparent my poker face does grow
I try and tell myself they’re mistakes
But what’s there to lose; what is it going to take?
Is it all but a slow dance, waiting for a moment, a chance?
Hope seems to be slipping
From my fingers down the drain
I can still feel its texture
Still sense the pain
My lips mention her name
Yet my eyes wish to see through this pointless game
Walking alone on a path I’ve been before
Finally realizing there probably isn’t more
Be content or be free
A decision that isn’t even a possibility
Above such simple minded conjecture
A younger version of myself would have wished not to have met her
But those days have turned from dusk to dawn
Like sand blowing in the wind; now gone
I am still me, but with a better understanding of the way things can be

My days in this place are counting down
A smile grows over erasing a frown
A new story
Written for me
My happiness
The life I live without limits but live withs
The ocean
The fine pearl sand by my side
Like I wanted so many others
Yet never did find
I will have my peace
My ease of mind
Nothing but time
Space
New beauty in place of faces no longer new to me
Break the routine
Discover the unseen
Untouched
Un-tasted
No longer can I let this passion be wasted.

The sun and moon gave birth today

The world rejoiced in ode of joy

The people of Earth given a chance to live

Under the heavens

With one heart and love to give

We lived each day

Finding each other in our own different way

Through hills and valleys

Sunrises and sunsets

Climbing higher on this mountain of life than some ever get

I’ve reached for the stars

Their twinkle and their scars

Reached for each other from worlds away

It was not easy

But here we are today

Apart only by miles and maps

I hope you don’t believe; to another world I’ve gone astray

Because in my heart– you stay

My thoughts and hopes are with you

I see you in every ounce of beauty in this place

In the water

In the mountains

In every smile of every face

A good people

A better woman

One I miss and want to touch

Show me a horizon and I miss her that much

On so many levels

In her heart

In her soul

On the lips I cannot wait to taste

In her tears

Her deepest fears

I shall purge from her burden

Set her free

Limitless
