Nobody knows what lies beyond tomorrow
We often guess, hope, pray and borrow
Love to come, love to fade
Dreams born, dreams made
My recent yesterdays have brought you in my tomorrow
I held your hand, looked you in the eyes, and kissed your soft lips
Like many others I often wish for the love I’ve come to miss
Summer fades and fall will soon be knocking at your door
Time to leave the sandy shores and ride with bails made of hay
With you by my side, I wish autumn here to stay
Time starts and stops with the right kiss
Enlightened in a moment with a taste of the drug bliss
Wisp me away on your magic carpet
Even if only for a little while
Has it been so long that you don’t even recognize yourself in that smile?
It fits you so well
Can you recall the last time you fell?
Lifted to a better place
Lifted by the visage bathed in grace
I do not know you but I’d like to
I have time to waste, let it be with you
There is no telling what lies in tomorrow
To fall in love we must beg, steal and borrow
For a chance, reciprocal romance, and faith
How long has it been since you believed?
Is a skeptic heart numb or simply asleep?
What if tomorrow’s sunrise could bring you to your feet?
Sleep tonight with hope hid behind your shining eyes
Let possibility, passion, and random chance bring you back to life
Hope to live, hope to love, hope to have, hope to give
I see my happiness in your eyes
Sipping cider wrapped in your arms
Crisp air with fading foliage at the finger tips of a swift breeze
A single gaze that weakens in the knees
Strength to endure life’s struggles and still please
Better to have, than to have lost
A better man in love, no matter the cost.
